It had been a long day and Cindy Chandler was glad to finally be off work for the evening. She had recently been promoted to work directly under Richard Alpert and had spent many hours reading over the patients' files, with whom she'd be starting therapy the next day. One particular patient came to mind. John Locke. For the most part, the older man was no trouble. However, he was well known for not being terribly cooperative when it came to his therapy sessions. They were lucky if he'd even show, much less getting him to talk. Apparently Doctor Alpert had made some headway with him that very day. She was not certain it was wise to switch in mid stream, but Richard had insisted.
Cindy ran a hand through her hair. "Worry about it tomorrow," she said to herself with a sigh. She was now making her way down the hallway away from her apartment. In her hand she held a copy of the Tchaikovsky CD Mikhail Bukanin and loaned her a few weeks ago. It had been her intention to return it earlier, but she had kept forgetting. She wanted to do so before another day passed. Or perhaps she had been avoiding him. She sighed again. She really liked MIkhail and he had asked her out on several ocassions. But it had been hard on Cindy. Ever since she had lost her fiance Gary Troup she had not wanted to get involved with another man. The thought was just too painful. She knew it was foolish. It had been 4 years since Gary's plan was lost in the Alps, after all.
Before she realized it, Cindy was standing in front of Mikhail's door. She hesitated. "You're only returning his CD," she chided herself, before knocking on the door. When there was no immediate answer, she assumed the orderly was probably not home. She decided she'd have to try again later and turned to leave.
